Chapter 1
Over half a century before the death of Sengin another woman was near death. She however wasn't dying of old age; she was dying from complications during child birth. The woman looked weak as she laid there, her shoulder length hair matted to her as she looked over at the man holding her bundled up child. The man was ageless, and it showed in how he stood and how he moved and how he held the child. The woman had known the man all her life and he had never aged in appearance, his dull silver hair had always been the same color as it was now and he had always been the same tall and lean man he was now.

Her hair was braided and done up in a simple bun, she wore a silken dress of a light purple with matching slippers. In her right ear was the only piercing she had, a bright red ruby set in a brass stud, the ruby seeming to always be glowing and the brass somehow never changing color. A copy of the Skull Crown hung from a hammered brass chain-link necklace around her neck.
This old woman had once been young and beautiful, had been princess of the Tyrans and Queen of the Tapmars. Men had lusted for her, men had fought for her, and women had wanted to be her. How she had changed. She was old now, a few wrinkles covering a face worn with age a
